On December 10, 2022, the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) in Mumbai handled 1,50,988 passengers, breaking the previous record. The total number of travellers listed above consisted of 1,11,441 domestic passengers and 39,547 international passengers, in addition to 892 ATMs. On December 10, 2022, CSMIA set its own record for the largest single-day performance of the year by serving 150988 people, breaking the previous record.

“Compared to the years 2021–2022, the Mumbai airport has seen a 140% increase in international passenger movements and a 26% increase in domestic passenger movements, for a total growth of 44%,” it continued. One of the busiest single runway operations in the world is Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA), located in Mumbai. The number of domestic passengers on December 10 was 1,11,441, while there were 39,547 international passengers and 892 air traffic movements, according to MIAL.

As a result of the aforementioned, Mumbai International Airports have started ‘Passenger Centric’ Key Initiatives to support rising passenger loads.
