Unlike retrofitted aircraft, this Dreamliner was designed, styled, and installed specifically for Air India directly on Boeing’s production line in Everett, Washington.

The aircraft was delivered on 11 January 2026, flying non-stop from Everett to Delhi, and is set to enter commercial service on 1 February 2026, operating long-haul flights between Mumbai and Frankfurt.

The interiors of the new air india 787 — from seats and galleys to lavatories, crew rest areas, side panels, and laminates — were styled in collaboration with JPA Design, a globally renowned multidisciplinary design studio.
