Frontier airlines hits person in denver International Airport

A shocking incident occurred involving Frontier Airlines at Denver International Airport late Friday night when a departing aircraft reportedly struck a person on the runway during takeoff.

The flight was headed to Los Angeles and the incident happened around 11:19 p.m. According to airport officials, the crew reported that the aircraft had hit a pedestrian while accelerating for takeoff.

During radio communications with air traffic control, the pilot stated:

“We’re stopping on the runway. We just hit somebody. We have an engine fire.”

The pilot also informed controllers that there were 231 people onboard and said:

“An individual was walking across the runway.”

Emergency response teams were immediately dispatched to the scene. Shortly afterward, the crew reported smoke inside the aircraft and made the decision to evacuate passengers directly onto the runway as a safety precaution.

Authorities have not yet released details about the condition or identity of the person involved, and an investigation into how someone gained access to the runway is expected to follow.

Frontier Airlines later confirmed that Flight 4345, operated by an Airbus A321, was involved in the runway accident at Denver International Airport. The airline said the aircraft was carrying 224 passengers and seven crew members at the time of the incident.

Following the reported collision with a person on the runway and an engine fire warning, passengers evacuated the aircraft using emergency slides. Buses were then used to transport everyone safely back to the terminal.

Officials have not yet released any information regarding the condition of the individual who was struck. The National Transportation Safety Board has been notified, and the runway remains closed while investigators examine the scene and determine how the person gained access to the active runway area.

The incident came only one day after another serious ground accident involving Delta Air Lines at Orlando International Airport, where an airport worker was killed after a vehicle struck a jet bridge near an aircraft carrying passengers.
