Air India To Launch Non-Stop Flights From India To 6 Destinations In US, Europe
Air India will begin operating 6 nonstop international flights in 2023.
As part of its strategy to broaden its reach internationally, Air India announced on November 23 that it would begin running six additional flights connecting Mumbai and Delhi with locations in the United States and Europe.
An airline operated by the Tata Group said that it will launch a new service connecting Mumbai with New York in February and with Paris and Frankfurt in the quarter between January and March. In February, the airline will also begin nonstop service between Delhi and Copenhagen, Milan, and Vienna.

According to a statement, it would complement Air India’s current daily service from Delhi to the John F. Kennedy International Airport in the New York region and its four weekly flights to the Newark Liberty airport.
Beginning on February 14, 2023, Air India will use its B777-200LR aircraft to fly daily to John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York as part of its global expansion. With the addition of these routes, Air India will now offer 47 nonstop flights weekly between India and the US.
Air India will also resume its three times weekly flights on the routes from Delhi to Vienna and from Delhi to Copenhagen beginning on February 18 and March 1, respectively. As of the January through March quarter, Air India also intends to launch four weekly flights between Mumbai and Frankfurt and three weekly flights between Mumbai and Paris.

Air India’s B787-8 Dreamliner will be used to fly every flight between India and Europe. With the restart of these flights, Air India will offer 79 weekly non-stop flights to 7 locations throughout Europe, including 48 flights to the United Kingdom and 31 to continental Europe, the airline announced.
*Fly directly from Mumbai to San Francisco three times per week beginning on December 15, 2022, with round-trip prices starting at ₹1,02,837.
*Starting on December 2nd, 2022, fly nonstop three times each week from Bengaluru to San Francisco, with round-trip prices starting from ₹83,766.

PIA Reinstates Manchester and Paris Routes After EU Ban Lift
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced plans to resume flights to Europe starting in January, beginning with Paris as its first destination.
The decision follows the European Union Aviation Safety Agency’s (EASA) removal of a long-standing ban on the airline. PIA’s inaugural flight to Paris is scheduled for January 10, with bookings opening on December 9.

In an official statement, PIA spokesperson Abdullah Hafeez Khan confirmed that the first flight schedule has been approved, marking a significant milestone in the airline’s recovery efforts. The EU ban had previously cost PIA approximately Rs40 billion ($144 million) annually in lost revenue, compounding its financial struggles.
With European operations restarting, PIA is now setting its sights on the United Kingdom. The airline plans to seek approval from the UK Department for Transport (DfT) to resume flights to major British cities such as London, Manchester, and Birmingham.

These routes are anticipated to see high demand once necessary clearances are obtained. The lifting of the EU ban represents a key achievement for PIA as it works to rebuild its international network and regain its standing in the global aviation market.
By restoring flights to Europe and aiming for UK destinations, PIA is taking critical steps toward recovering lost ground and improving its financial outlook.
