For many, in-flight entertainment plays a significant role in their journey; it’s a place to discreetly catch up on films or binge-watch television shows.

Qantas has unveiled the most popular in-flight entertainment for 2023, as it does every year, and Australian talent and content took home the top spots.

Barbie, the blockbuster film starring Australian actress Margot Robbie, was the most-watched film of 2023, while global sensation Bluey took out top billing as the most popular kids’ entertainment program.

Australian television programs dominated the small screen, with Couples Therapy Australia being the most-watched reality show, The Australian Wars being the most-watched documentary, and Five Bedrooms being the most-watched comedy.

Nonetheless, the US phenomenon The White Lotus emerged as the top television program, with 300,000 hours of viewing the second season this year by Qantas customers.

    Starting in the summer of 2025, Air France is teaming up with Starlink to offer ultra-fast Wi-Fi on all its flights. The service promises a “ground-like” internet experience and will be available free of charge for passengers in all cabin classes. To access the Wi-Fi, passengers can log in using their Flying Blue loyalty program accounts.

    Hawaiian Airlines made history as the first U.S. airline to partner with Starlink back in 2022. By September 2024, the airline successfully installed the high-speed Wi-Fi on all of its Airbus aircraft.
