The Top 5 Films Seen on a Qantas Flight This is the listing

The most popular in-flight entertainment on Qantas flights in 2022 featured a lesser-known meditation record alongside one of the greatest Hollywood action movies of all time.

Qantas customers spent more than 60 million hours using the airline’s inflight entertainment and inflight Wi-FI during the year, with usage doubling compared to 2019.

Topping the inflight movie charts this year was Top Gun: Maverick which, despite only being released in September, was watched more than 750,000 times. In September alone, an average of one in three customers on international and domestic flights watched the blockbuster onboard. Australian made movies Elvis and Falling for Figaro were also popular.

Proving that health and wellness extends all the way to 38,000 feet, the top album onboard was 417 Hz Mindfulness by Miracle Tones & Solfeggio Healing Frequencies MT, the first time meditation topped the inflight audio charts with 1.7 million hours listened to over the year. Adele’s 30 took out top spot as the most listened to pop album.

Customers also made the most of fast, free domestic inflight WiFi downloading an average of 18GB per flight, the equivalent of 125 hours of streaming music. Brisbane to Perth was the most connected route with 95 per cent of customers logging on compared with the network average of just over 60 per cent. Sporting events like footy finals and the cricket were popular with notable spikes in usage around key sporting events.

Qantas has made a number of improvements to its inflight entertainment offering this year, including the progressive roll out of inflight entertainment streamed to customers’ own devices on QantasLink’s regional jets, in addition to Qantas’ international and domestic flights.

Qantas customers also now have access to a dedicated Paramount+ category within the inflight entertainment platform to stream a variety of content, including access to Nickelodeon, TV shows including The First LadyNCIS and The Offer, and movies such as Streaming Wars and Star Trek.

Air India Rolls Out A350s for Delhi-New York JFK and Newark Routes

In a major development for North American travelers, Air India has announced the deployment of its state-of-the-art Airbus A350-900 aircraft on two key routes: Delhi to New York and Delhi to Newark.

The service on the Delhi-New York route will commence on November 1, 2024, while the Delhi-Newark route will see its inaugural flight on January 2, 2025.

The A350’s Business class will set new standards with 28 private suites, each equipped with full-flat beds, direct aisle access, and personal wardrobes. Economy class will be configured to accommodate 264 passengers in a 3-4-3 layout. Across all cabins, passengers will enjoy the latest Panasonic eX3 in-flight entertainment system, offering over 2,200 hours of content.

This strategic deployment marks a notable enhancement in Air India’s U.S. operations, with 60% of its flights to the U.S. now featuring new or upgraded cabin interiors. The air india new international routes currently operates 51 weekly flights to five U.S. destinations: New York JFK, Newark, Washington DC, Chicago, and San Francisco.
