Paris Airshow 2025 – Day 2 Update: Airbus Leads with Major VietJet Order

As the Paris Airshow continues into its second day at Le Bourget Airport (June 16–22), the pace of aircraft orders has slightly slowed compared to the opening day. However, Airbus marked a significant milestone with a record-breaking order from VietJet.

VietJet has placed a substantial commitment for nearly 150 Airbus A321neo aircraft, consisting of 100 firm orders and 50 options.

The deal is valued at approximately USD 9.4 billion, making it the largest order announced on Day 2. This move reflects VietJet’s continued focus on expanding its fleet with fuel-efficient narrow-body jets.

While no further major commercial orders were detailed publicly on Day 2, the overall sentiment suggests a more subdued show compared to previous years—largely influenced by ongoing geopolitical tensions and the recent Air India Boeing 787 incident.

Airbus has so far dominated the order announcements, while Boeing has notably scaled back its presence, with no major commercial order announcements expected during this year’s show.

Meanwhile, Embraer has attracted attention with promising developments, though official confirmations of new deals from both the manufacturer and airlines are still pending.
