Embraer’s E-Freighter is Certified by the FAA

Le Bourget, Paris, 18 June 2025 – Embraer (NYSE: ERJ; B3: EMBR3) has scored a major victory at the Paris Airshow 2025, receiving a firm order from SkyWest, Inc. (NASDAQ: SKYW) for 60 E175 aircraft, along with purchase rights for an additional 50.

Valued at approximately US$3.6 billion at list prices, the order will be included in Embraer’s Q2 backlog, with deliveries scheduled to begin in 2027.

With a current fleet of 263 E175s and a backlog of 16, SkyWest is the world’s largest owner and operator of Embraer E-Jets. This new order further strengthens their dominant position in the regional aviation market.

Chip Childs, President and CEO of SkyWest, stated:
“As the largest E175 owner and operator worldwide, we’re pleased to continue growing our E175 fleet and enhance our dual-class footprint.

This order enables us to advance our long-term fleet strategy and to continue to deliver the premier regional product in the industry.”

Arjan Meijer, President & CEO of Embraer Commercial Aviation, added:
“We are thrilled to continue our long-standing partnership with SkyWest Airlines with this mega order.

The E175 is the cornerstone of regional aviation in North America, and this order underscores SkyWest’s confidence in our aircraft’s performance, reliability, and passenger comfort.”

The partnership between Embraer and SkyWest spans nearly four decades, beginning in 1986 with the delivery of five EMB-120 Brasilia aircraft. By 1997, SkyWest operated more than 40 of the turboprops.

In 2013, the relationship was further deepened with a major purchase of 100 E175s. Today, SkyWest operates the world’s largest E175 fleet, cementing its role as Embraer’s flagship customer in regional aviation.

This significant announcement at Paris Airshow 2025 reinforces Embraer’s growing influence in the global regional jet market and sets a high benchmark for the remainder of the event.

Airlink, Southern Africa’s leading full-service airline, plans to lease 10 new Embraer E195-E2 twin-engine passenger aircraft from Azorra, the Fort Lauderdale-based lease, finance and asset management firm.

Under the scope of an agreement to be finalised soon, Airlink will augment its current 68-strong fleet with the new E2 aircraft, with deliveries from Embraer’s facilities in Brazil expected later this year through to 2027.   Airlink has operated Embraer aircraft since 2001.

The new 136 and 124-seat aircraft are expected to achieve fuel savings of up to 29 percent compared to the earlier-generation E195s Airlink currently operates.

This will enhance Airlink’s economic efficiencies and reduce emissions across its schedule and network which covers 45 destinations in 15 countries, including St Helena Island in the South Atlantic and Madagascar.

The addition of the Pratt & Whitney GTF-powered E2s, which have on average 33% more seats than Airlink’s current E190s will enable the airline to achieve lower unit costs on high-demand routes.

With their additional range, they will also let Airlink expand its network, providing its efficient, reliable and comfortable service to new sub-Sahara Africa destinations.
