Wings India 2026 is India’s gateway to discovering the future of aviation in one of the world’s fastest-growing air travel markets. Scheduled from January 28 to 31, 2026, the premier aerospace event will bring together global manufacturers, airlines, and policymakers—and this year, Russia is set to make a strong statement in India’s civil aviation space.

Russia’s Presence at Wings India 2026

According to TASS, Russia’s United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) will participate in Wings India 2026 with the support of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Russian Trade Mission in India. The Russian pavilion will feature model displays of two key civil aircraft:

  • SJ-100 (Superjet New)
  • Il-114-300 regional turboprop

In addition, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL)—UAC’s local partner in India—will showcase a model of the SJ-100 carrying HAL branding at its stand, underlining the growing depth of Indo-Russian aerospace cooperation.

Both the sj 100 india and Il-114-300 are planned for static display, allowing Indian airlines, leasing companies, and policymakers to closely evaluate the aircraft for future regional connectivity needs.

Aircraft Highlights and Key Specifications: SJ-100 (Superjet New)

Developed by PJSC Yakovlev, part of Rostec’s United Aircraft Corporation, the SJ-100 is a modern twin-engine regional jet. Over 200 Superjet aircraft are already in service with 16 airlines worldwide, providing a proven operational foundation.

Key Features of SJ-100

  • Aircraft type: Twin-engine narrow-body regional jet
  • Seating capacity: ~98 passengers
  • Maximum range: ~4,500 km
  • Maximum Take-Off Weight (MTOW): ~49.5 tonnes
  • Cruise speed: ~870 km/h (Mach 0.78)
  • Role in India: Short-haul, high-frequency routes under UDAN

Il-114-300

The Il-114-300 is a modernized turboprop regional aircraft designed for operations from short, semi-prepared, and remote runways, including hot-and-high conditions.

Key Features of Il-114-300

  • Aircraft type: Twin-engine turboprop
  • Seating capacity: 64–68 passengers
  • Maximum range: ~1,900 km
  • Maximum Take-Off Weight (MTOW): ~23.5 tonnes
  • Cruise speed: ~500–540 km/h
  • Operational advantage: Excellent performance from short runways and low operating costs

A Strong Signal for India’s Regional Aviation Future

Russia’s participation at Wings India 2026—combined with the HAL-UAC manufacturing partnership—signals a serious push to align aircraft platforms with India’s regional connectivity goals.

With the sj100 plane for dense short-haul routes and the Il-114-300 for remote and low-infrastructure sectors, the collaboration offers India a diversified approach to building a resilient and self-reliant civil aviation ecosystem.

As India’s domestic air travel demand continues its rapid ascent, Wings India 2026 could mark the moment when regional aircraft manufacturing becomes a core pillar of the country’s aviation future.
