Emirates Unveils £100 Million Pilot Training Centre in Dubai
Emirates opens a £100 million state-of-the-art pilot training centre in Dubai, boosting simulator capacity by 54% and setting a new benchmark in global aviation training.
In the ever-evolving world of aviation, where precision, innovation, and safety define success, Emirates Airlines has once again raised the bar.
Known globally as the world’s largest international airline, Emirates is not only expanding its fleet but also investing heavily in the future of its pilots. The airline has officially unveiled a brand-new, state-of-the-art pilot training centre in Dubai, valued at £100 million, setting a new benchmark for aviation training worldwide.
A new era in pilot training
The purpose-built, high-tech facility spans over 63,318 sq. ft. and houses six full-flight simulator bays. Strategically located near Emirates’ existing training campuses in Dubai, this centre cements the city’s status as a vibrant global hub for aviation excellence, innovation, and professional growth.
The facility has already begun training pilots on two Airbus A350 full-flight simulators, with four more, including advanced Boeing 777X simulators, to be added in the coming years.
Each simulator has the capacity to deliver 7,500 hours of training annually, supporting up to 1,000 pilots. Once fully operational, Emirates will boast 17 simulators in total, significantly boosting its training capacity by 54% to an impressive 130,000 training hours per year.
Cutting-edge technology for maximum efficiency
What makes this centre stand out is its industry-first Pilot Support Station (PSS) – an in-house innovation by Emirates.
This feature allows pilots to prepare their flight deck setup, design flight plans, and immerse themselves in a virtual cockpit environment even before stepping into the simulator. Training sessions are fully recorded, enabling instructors to replay and analyse key moments, ensuring pilots achieve the highest levels of competency.
Adding to its futuristic capabilities, the centre also integrates sophisticated 3D printing technology. This innovation allows Emirates to create complex components for its training equipment, generating annual savings of up to AED 1 million.
Global recognition and top-level qualification
Emirates’ first A350 simulator has achieved a Level D qualification from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) – the highest possible rating for flight simulators.
It is also the first in the world certified at the latest Airbus A350 Standard 1.3, and remarkably, it earned this qualification with zero findings, an achievement rarely seen in the industry.
A complete ecosystem for aviation excellence
Beyond simulator training, the new Emirates Crew Training Centre includes four modern classrooms for recurrent, conversion, and command courses.
This facility complements Emirates’ wider portfolio of training and development hubs in Dubai, such as the Emirates Flight Training Academy for cadets, the Emirates Aviation University, the Emirates Cabin Crew Training Centre, and the Emirates Aviation College.
Together, these institutions offer world-class specialist, technical, and soft-skills courses not just for Emirates’ own employees, but also for the global aviation community.
Preparing for the future of aviation
As Emirates continues its massive growth trajectory with its new Airbus A350s and upcoming Boeing 777Xs, it is actively recruiting pilots through three key programmes – Direct Entry Captains, Accelerated Command, and First Officers (non-type rated).
For aspiring aviators seeking to join one of the world’s most profitable airlines and fly the largest fleets of A380s and Boeing 777s, this is a golden opportunity to step into the cockpit of the future.
