Airbus unveils Airspace Cabin Vision 2035+
Airbus’ most recent futuristic cabin-design plans, which cover the period beyond 2035, are centered on sustainability and feature bionic design, reusable materials, more transparent passenger information, and new catering concepts.
The three pillars of the 2035+ cabin
Airbus’ three “building blocks,” or pillars, that Wuggetzer outlined the use to guide the design of its upcoming cabins. Transparency in the supply chain is the first pillar to be put in place in order to create a traceable lifecycle system; this will entail “an end-to-end lifecycle assessment, how to design products, how to retrofit products, or how to customize.”
The second pillar is decarbonization, is at the core of the new cabin designs.
Based on the current study, the cabin may be liable for 10–20% of an aircraft’s overall environmental effect throughout the course of its life. One of the most effective levers for decreasing emissions in the cabin.

Circularity, the third pillar, is said to be the most challenging to attain by Wuggetzer. To make the sector more sustainable, this pillar is built around four essential ideas: rethink, recycle, repair, and reuse.
New eating concepts like pre-ordering your meal on long-haul flights or picking up your lunch at the gate on short-haul flights will help reduce food waste and weight by up to 15%. Lighter bionic designs will help cut cabin weight by up to 40%.

The lightweight designs of Airbus include 3D printing and bionic concepts. The company wants to utilize fewer cabin materials while concentrating on alternatives that consume less carbon than the ones that are already in use, like bio-based fabrics and recycled polymers. The intelligent system design will also maximize the use of resources and energy.
