Air India Business Class Passenger Urinates on Co-Passenger During Flight

Sometimes, what should be a smooth flight turns into a nightmare — not due to turbulence, but because of bizarre and unacceptable passenger behavior.

Unfortunately, Air India finds itself in the spotlight yet again for all the wrong reasons. In a shocking repeat of the infamous 2022 “pee-gate” scandal, a second incident of a passenger urinating on a fellow traveler has surfaced — this time on board an international flight to Bangkok.

On April 9, 2025, aboard air india flight AI2336 from Delhi to Bangkok, a disturbing incident occurred involving two business class passengers. The flight, operated by an Airbus A320neo (registration VT-RTS), became the scene of an unsettling act as the aircraft began its descent.

According to reports, a passenger identified as Tushar Masand, seated in 2D, allegedly urinated on Hiroshi Yoshizane, the Managing Director of Bridgestone India, who was seated in 1D.

The cabin crew responded promptly, immediately relocating Masand and assisting Yoshizane, who was provided the opportunity to change clothes. Another business class passenger reportedly raised concerns over safety and insisted that Masand be removed from the premium section.

Despite the serious nature of the incident, Yoshizane chose not to file a formal complaint after landing, reportedly saying he did not want to waste time.

Masand apologized on the spot and was moved to the economy cabin, taking seat 14C for the remainder of the flight.

Air India issued a verbal warning to the offending passenger and followed all necessary regulatory protocols. The incident was immediately reported to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).

“The pilot in command was informed right away and passed on the report to ground staff,” an airline official stated. A full report was also submitted by the cabin crew.

An independent committee has now been tasked with reviewing the case and deciding on any further disciplinary or legal action.

A senior official from the aviation ministry commented:

“This incident is extremely unfortunate and is being dealt with on priority. The investigator in charge will proceed in line with global aviation safety and conduct standards.”

This marks the second such incident involving bodily misconduct aboard an Air India flight in recent years, raising serious questions about passenger behavior and the need for stricter deterrents.
