Pune Firm Builds India’s First A320 Simulator at 75% Less Cost
This milestone reinforces India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat mission, reducing dependency on foreign technology and revolutionizing pilot training with cost-effective, high-fidelity simulation.
In a landmark achievement for India’s aviation sector, a Pune-based institute has developed the country’s first indigenously built Airbus A320 full flight simulator—a breakthrough once dominated by global aerospace giants.
This milestone reinforces India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat mission, reducing dependency on foreign technology and revolutionizing pilot training with cost-effective, high-fidelity simulation.
Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Murlidhar Mohol, inaugurated the simulator at the Yoskies Aviation Academy in Pune, marking a pivotal moment for India’s aviation training ecosystem.
Yoskies’ Founder Director, Sqn Ldr (Retd.) Ajay Paranjape, and Director Capt. Trupti Karnavat briefed the dignitaries about the simulator in detail, the statement said.
Key Highlights of India’s Indigenous A320 Simulator
– Fully Designed & Built in India – No reliance on foreign technology.
– 75% Lower Cost – More affordable than imported simulators.
–High-Fidelity Training – Realistic flight experience for aspiring pilots.
–3 Years of Development – Two simulator models created in phases.
Why This Breakthrough Matters
1. Boosting Atmanirbhar Bharat in Aviation
For the first time, India has developed a full flight simulator (FFS) domestically, eliminating the need for expensive imports. This aligns with the government’s vision of self-reliance in aerospace technology.
2. Making Pilot Training More Affordable
Imported flight simulators cost crores, making pilot training prohibitively expensive. CSKAA’s indigenous solution cuts costs by 75%, opening doors for more aspiring pilots.
3. Enhancing India’s Aviation Training Ecosystem
With this innovation, India can now scale high-quality, cost-efficient pilot training nationwide, reducing the need for sending cadets abroad.
A Vision Turned Reality
Over the past three years, CSKAA worked relentlessly to develop this simulator in phases. According to Captain Karnawat, this project proves India’s capability to innovate in aviation tech and training infrastructure.
The Future of Indian Aviation
This achievement is not just a win for Pune or CSKAA—it’s a giant leap for Indian civil aviation. By fostering indigenous technology, India can now:
✔ Train more pilots domestically
✔ Reduce training costs significantly
✔ Strengthen its position in global aviation innovation
