#Tata Group, Singapore Airlines In Talks Over #Vistara And #AirIndia Integration
On Thursday, Singapore Airlines announced that it and Tata Group were in “confidential discussions” regarding the possibility of merging Vistara and Air India.
The potential of merging the two airlines is being discussed by Singapore Airlines (SIA), which owns a 49% share in Vistara. This is the first time that SIA has made this known publicly. In addition to owning Air India and Air India Express, Tata Group also owns a 51% stake in Vistara. In addition, the group owns an 83.67 percent stake in the Indian airline AirAsia India.
The discussions aim to strengthen the current collaboration between SIA and Tata and could result in the combination of Vistara and Air India, according to SIA’s filing with the Singapore Stock Exchange. There are still open questions and no final conditions have been agreed upon by the parties. There is absolutely no assurance or surety that any definitive agreement will be signed, the Potential Transaction will take place, or that it will progress to a conclusion as a result of these conversations.

Even if a sale were to take place, it would still need to receive the necessary regulatory permissions, among other things, the statement stated. “Strong local and international traffic flows exist in India, and over the next ten years, these flows are anticipated to more than double. This is a crucial component of the SIA Group’s multi-hub strategy since it gives it access to crucial resources that strengthen its powerful Singapore hub “the airline from Singapore said.
The airline warned shareholders and prospective investors to use caution while interacting with or trading in the Company’s securities.
