Passenger’s Gold Chain Allegedly Stolen by IndiGo Crew—Investigation Underway
A Bengaluru-bound IndiGo flight faces controversy after a mother alleges a crew member stole her five-year-old’s gold chain, prompting a police probe and raising concerns over inflight security.
When you step onto a flight, safety and the security of your personal belongings are not just expectations—they’re essentials.
Especially when traveling with children, passengers place their trust in the airline crew to ensure a safe and respectful journey. But what happens when that very trust is questioned?
A troubling allegation has surfaced involving a cabin crew member on board an indigo flight from Thiruvananthapuram to Bengaluru. A passenger, Priyanka Mukherjee, has accused a flight attendant of stealing her five-year-old child’s gold necklace during the journey.
The incident, reported by The Times of India, has sparked concern among travelers and raised serious questions about in-flight security and crew conduct.
Upon landing at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru, the distraught mother immediately filed a complaint with multiple authorities, including the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), airport management, indigo airlines, and local police.
In response, the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) police registered a case and initiated an investigation.
However, the case has hit a roadblock. One of the biggest challenges is the lack of in-flight surveillance footage, which could have been vital in verifying the claim. IndiGo has confirmed that there is no CCTV footage from the flight that could help resolve the matter.
The accused crew member has firmly denied the allegation. And with no physical evidence or eyewitness accounts to support the complaint, authorities are facing difficulties in moving the investigation forward. As of now, no arrests have been made.
IndiGo, in an official statement, acknowledged the incident and assured full cooperation with the authorities as the investigation continues.
