These Airlines May Place Major Aircraft Orders at Paris Airshow 2025

Paris Airshow returns next week, set to showcase the latest in aviation technology and aircraft. Leading airlines and aircraft manufacturers will be exhibiting their innovations, with expectations of new orders from global clients.

Defense deals may also be on the agenda, with major players like Lockheed Martin and several other companies confirmed to attend and participate in the event.

With the Paris Air Show 2025 set for June 16–22, confirmed airline orders remain limited, as final deals are typically announced during the event. However, based on current industry insights and speculation, several major orders are expected:

Expected Airline Orders

• Riyadh Air: Likely to order around 50 Airbus A350s to enhance its long-haul network, complementing its Boeing 787 fleet. This reflects Airbus’s continued push in the Middle Eastern wide-body market.
• IndiGo: Reportedly considering an order for 30–50 ATR 72-600 turboprops, valued at up to $750 million. Additionally, there are signs of a firm order for 30 Airbus A350s.
• Air India: Expected to place an order for around 50 wide-body jets, possibly including Boeing 777X and Airbus A350 aircraft, as part of its long-haul expansion strategy. This follows its record-breaking 470-aircraft deal finalized at the 2023 Paris Air Show.
• AirAsia : According to Reuters, AirAsia is in advanced talks to order nearly 100 Airbus A220 aircraft at the upcoming Paris Airshow. This marks a major move for the airline as it aims to expand its network by adding more short-haul routes. The deal is expected to bring the fuel-efficient A220 into AirAsia’s fleet for the first time.
• Gulf Carriers (Qatar Airways, Emirates, Etihad Airways): Likely to explore additional orders. Qatar Airways is specifically mentioned as a potential customer for more A320 family and A350 aircraft, though details are yet to be confirmed.
• Other Potential Buyers: Airlines such as Royal Air Maroc, EgyptAir, Tunisair, Philippine Airlines, Japan Airlines (JAL), Cathay Pacific, and several aircraft leasing firms may also announce orders across various aircraft categories. However, these remain speculative.
