IndiGo Deploys A321XLR on Delhi–Istanbul Route, Replacing Stopover Flights

IndiGo, India’s largest and most preferred airline, continues to raise the bar in international aviation. With its commitment to making global travel more convenient and comfortable, the airline is set to embark on an exciting new journey—marking its debut in the long-haul segment.

Starting July 2025, IndiGo will connect Mumbai to two major European cities: Manchester and Amsterdam, with longest indigo flight non-stop flights that redefine travel ease and efficiency for Indian flyers.

IndiGo Takes Off with Long-Haul Debut to Europe

In a significant leap forward, IndiGo is all set to launch its first-ever non-stop long-haul flights from Mumbai to Manchester and Amsterdam, starting 01 July 2025. These new routes make IndiGo the only airline to offer direct connectivity between Mumbai and these two major European destinations, further strengthening India’s aviation footprint globally.

This move not only enhances passenger convenience but also positions IndiGo as a major player in international long-haul operations, opening doors to seamless travel between India and Europe.

A New Level of Comfort with the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner

To operate these flights, IndiGo will utilize its wide-body indigo 787 Dreamliner aircraft—leased from Norse Atlantic Airways under a damp lease agreement. These state-of-the-art jets offer a spacious, double-aisle design, equipped to provide enhanced passenger comfort on longer journeys.

The cabin features:

  • 56 IndiGoStretch seats in a 2x3x2 configuration, offering 43 inches of seat pitch for extra legroom.
  • 282 economy seats arranged in a 3x3x3 layout, with a generous 31-inch seat pitch for a comfortable travel experience.

The airline will operate thrice-weekly services on both routes, ensuring flexibility for both leisure and business travelers.

Complimentary Hot Meals and Enhanced In-Flight Experience

As part of its premium service upgrade for long-haul routes, indigo will offer complimentary hot meals and beverages to all passengers on these international flights. This marks a significant enhancement in its in-flight dining experience, aligning with global standards for full-service long-haul carriers.

Strengthening IndiGo’s Global Ambitions

The launch of these new European routes is just the beginning of indigo flight long-haul strategy. Recently, the airline signed a leasing agreement with Norse Atlantic Airways to operate six indigo boeing 787 Dreamliners, one of which is already flying on the Delhi-Bangkok route. These aircraft will support IndiGo’s European expansion as the airline awaits deliveries of its A321XLR aircraft later this year, and Airbus A350-900s starting in 2027.

With this strategic foray into long-haul travel, indigo airlines is taking bold steps to meet rising international demand while maintaining its hallmark of reliability, affordability, and service excellence.
