India’s Mahindra Aerostructures to Manufacture Airbus H125 Fuselage at Bengaluru Plant

India’s aerospace industry is reaching new heights as the nation advances towards self-reliance in aviation and defense manufacturing.

In a landmark development, Mahindra Aerostructures Pvt. Ltd. (MASPL) has been awarded a prestigious contract by Airbus Helicopters to manufacture and assemble the main fuselage of its globally renowned H125 light single-engine helicopter.

Building on Earlier Success

This new award adds to Mahindra’s ongoing Airbus program. Earlier in 2025, Mahindra was entrusted with the fuselage production of the H130 helicopter, a project already progressing successfully. The addition of the H125 program strengthens Mahindra’s growing portfolio in the global aerospace supply chain.

Leaders Celebrate the Announcement

The contract announcement took place in the presence of Wouter van Wersch, Executive Vice President International at Airbus; Jürgen Westermeier, President and Managing Director of Airbus in India and South Asia; and Arvind Mehra, Managing Director & CEO of MASPL.

Bengaluru Facility Expansion

Under this contract, Mahindra Aerostructures will manufacture the H125 main fuselage at its Bengaluru facility. The site is being expanded to accommodate the new program, with industrialisation beginning immediately. The first fuselage delivery is scheduled for 2027.

Airbus’ Strategic Vision for India

This contract further deepens Airbus’ partnership with Mahindra and India’s wider aerospace sector. Today, every Airbus commercial aircraft flying worldwide carries components made in India. Airbus currently sources $1.4 billion worth of components and services annually from India, making the country a key hub in its global strategy.

In addition, Airbus is establishing two major Final Assembly Lines (FALs) in India — one for the C295 military transport aircraft and another for the H125 helicopter — underlining its commitment to developing the Indian aerospace ecosystem.

The H125 is the world’s top-selling single-engine helicopter, known for its outstanding performance, versatility, and cost-effectiveness.

Its applications range from passenger transport, aerial work, tourism, and law enforcement to medical evacuation and rescue missions. With a wide, unobstructed cabin and advanced avionics, it is designed for adaptability and reliability in even the toughest operating environments.
