Elon Musk Joins Forces with Boeing to Get Air Force One Back on Track

Former U.S. President Donald Trump is furious. The long-awaited new Air Force One jets, initially expected by 2026, are now facing delays that could push their arrival to 2029 or later.

Trump, who played a key role in securing the aircraft upgrades, has been demanding answers from Boeing.

Now, in an unexpected twist, billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk is stepping in to help get the project back on track.

Elon Musk Joins Boeing to Fix Air Force One Delays

Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg recently revealed that Musk—known for his groundbreaking work at Tesla and SpaceX—is now collaborating with Boeing and the U.S. Air Force to explore solutions for expediting the aircraft’s delivery.

Ortberg described the discussions as “constructive” and acknowledged that the president is eager to have the planes delivered as soon as possible.

Boeing Faces Billions in Losses

Boeing has already suffered over $2 billion in losses on the Air Force One project, and the continuous delays are worsening the situation. By bringing in Musk, Boeing hopes to leverage his efficiency-driven approach to accelerate production.

In an interview with CNBC, Ortberg confirmed that Musk recently visited Boeing’s operations to brainstorm ways to speed up the aircraft’s completion.

“The president wants the airplane sooner, and so we’re working with Elon and the team to figure out what we can do to pull up the schedule,” Ortberg said.

Can Musk’s Efficiency Fix Boeing’s Struggles?

This unexpected collaboration comes as Boeing struggles with financial setbacks, production hurdles, and a workforce strike. With Musk’s reputation for streamlining complex projects, many are now wondering: Could he be the key to finally getting Air Force One off the ground?
