British Airways Finalise order for 6 New Boeing 787-10 and 10 A320neos
British Airways’ widebody fleet has been bolstered by the International Airlines Group (IAG) by turning options for six Boeing 787-10s into definite purchases.
British Airways’ order book now includes six more 787-10 options from IAG. In addition to orders for five 787-10s, three Airbus A350-1000s, and 18 Boeing 777-9s with options for 24 more, British Airways has also placed orders for three Airbus A350-1000s and five 787-10s.

A record operating profit of €1,260 million was made in the first half (as opposed to a deficit of €446 million in the first half of 2022) before unusual items. Consequently, represents a striking growth of €1,706 million.
The Group has also revealed that it will turn one Airbus A350-900 option held by Iberia into a firm order. These planes will be delivered between 2025 and 2026, which will allow the long-haul fleets of the different carriers to regain capacity.
This action comes after IAG’s earlier decision to convert 10 A320neo options into firm orders, with delivery set for 2028. Several airlines, notably Aer Lingus, British Airways, Iberia, Level, and Vueling, are owned by IAG.
IAG Chief Executive Officer Luis Gallego stated: “These most recent generation aircraft will help restore capacity to pre-pandemic levels. They will be some of our long-haul fleet’s most fuel-efficient aircraft and support our goal of achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050.
