Tata-owned Air India has taken swift action to uphold its high safety and ethical standards. The airline has fired a simulator trainer pilot over serious lapses in training procedures and grounded 10 pilots who trained under him as a precautionary measure.

This decision follows a whistleblower’s report, which was later confirmed through an internal investigation.

Air India Takes Decisive Action

After reviewing the allegations, Air India determined that the trainer failed to perform his duties during pilot training sessions. In response: The trainer pilot has been dismissed from service. 10 pilots who underwent recurrent training under him have been removed from flying duties pending further investigation.
Commitment to Transparency and Safety

As part of its commitment to ethics and transparency, Air India voluntarily reported the issue to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). The airline also commended the whistleblower for stepping forward, reinforcing its stance on accountability and safety.
