These are airlines to offer flights to Tel Aviv

Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) intends to carry on its operations in Tel Aviv. Starting on January 8, 2024, Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays will see five weekly nonstop flights between Zurich and Tel Aviv operated by SWISS.

The aircraft used for the flights will be from the Airbus A320neo family. Following a thorough examination of the current circumstances, SWISS has determined that flights to and from Tel Aviv can be conducted safely. Bookings for the rescheduled flights will open on Monday, December 18.

Lufthansa Airlines also intends to start flying to Tel Aviv again on January 8, 2024. Lufthansa Airlines will first operate three weekly flights from Munich and four weekly flights from Frankfurt in the first phase. Eight weekly connections are planned by Austrian Airlines, and five weekly flights are planned by SWISS.

The Lufthansa Group airlines will consequently initially provide a total of 20 weekly connections to and from Tel Aviv. This is approximately equivalent to 30% of the typical flight schedule. There will be use of Airbus A320 family aircraft.

This flight schedule offers good transfer connections from Israel to North America and back via the hubs in Frankfurt, Munich, Vienna, and Zurich. The flight schedule will be published on Monday, December 18. Flights can be booked from this date.

SWISS will also resume flight operations to and from Beirut as planned on Saturday 16 December. The Lebanese capital will receive twice-weekly service, on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The flights will be operated with Airbus A220 and A320-family aircraft. SWISS will continue to serve Beirut until 13 January 2024; service will then be suspended on the route for the further winter months (until 22 March 2024), as previously planned.

Safety is SWISS’s top priority at all times. With constant communication with both local and international authorities, SWISS will keep a close eye on the situation in Israel.

Rebooking free of charge

SWISS customers who are affected by the cancellations until 15 December 2023 (Beirut) or 7 January 2024 (Tel Aviv) may rebook free of charge to a new travel date or, if they prefer, have the price of their ticket refunded in full.

According to the most recent schedule filings by aviation analytics company Cirium, which were released on Sunday, United Airlines is preparing to start operating again at Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion International Airport (TLV) on January 9, 2024.

“Perhaps the woman was simply too uneasy to sleep next to other passengers,” a commenter said. “It seems like she wanted the entire bin to herself,” says a different comment. According to Guzman, who spoke with Storyful, she “saw a head pop out of the overhead” as she boarded the aircraft, and other travellers “just casually walked past her,” seemingly unaffected by her presence.

As the airline eventually clarified, the situation was swiftly resolved, with the flight attendant emerging from the compartment after a mere 10 minutes. With the interruption resolved, the flight proceeded without further incident, leaving behind a memorable tale that showcased the unexpected twists of air travel.
