Starlux Airlines to launch San Francisco flights in December

Starlux Airlines begins A350 flights from Taipei to San Francisco

Starlux Airlines announced that it will begin three weekly flights between Taiwan and San Francisco in December, with one flight per day scheduled for next year. Starlux Chair Chang Kuo-wei stated at a shareholders meeting on Friday that the business plans to start flights to Seattle, Singapore, and Jakarta in 2024. Additionally, he indicated an interest in expanding the number of flying hours to Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam and starting flights to Clark in the Philippines, according to the report.

According to Chang, India would only be taken into consideration after the airline’s connections between Taiwan and the United States had stabilised. Starlux would require the Airbus A350-1000 for the U.S. east coast, but even then, he claimed, the lengthy flight would make it challenging to turn a profit.

Chang predicted that before the expensive aviation era cooled and stabilized, it would take two to three years. He claimed that one of the problems was a staff shortage following the COVID-19 outbreak.

According to the report Chang stated in response to a shareholder’s query that his company was not now interested in domestic flights. Starlux would operate flights within Taiwan , but not now, he said.
