IndiGo inducts second Boeing 777 aircraft, to operate on Mumbai-Istanbul route

On Wednesday, IndiGo, India’s largest airline in terms of fleet size and market share, welcomed a Boeing 777 as its second wide-body aircraft. After being accepted on a wet lease, the second Boeing widebody will begin service on the Mumbai-Istanbul route on May 17, 2023.

The Boeing 777 has a seating capacity of 400 passengers and may be configured with 24 business class seats and 376 economy class seats. Since February 1, 2023, IndiGo has begun flying its first wide-body Boeing 777 on the Delhi-Istanbul route. To meet the growing demand for international travel from India, these aircraft have been introduced.

Customers have the option of ordering hot meals in advance and buying alcohol for in-flight use. They have the option to pre-order Jain meals, vegetarian or non-vegetarian hot meals, blankets and pillows, as well as amenity kits, depending on their preferences. Tomato Cheese Omelette with Potato Wedges and Veggie Cutlet; Aloo Rasmissa with Palak Poori, Corn and Peas Cutlet; Chana masala with Lachha paratha and Stuffed tomato; Chicken Tikka Masala with Basmati Rice Saffron and Black Lentils; and other similar options will be available to customers on the Mumbai-Istanbul-Mumbai flight.

Pieter Elbers, the CEO of IndiGo, commented on this by saying, “We are thrilled to induct our second Boeing 777 aircraft on damp lease, which will operate on the Mumbai-Istanbul route.
