Jet Airways to get first aircraft soon? Siberian Airline’s Airbus A320 spotted wearing Indian brand’s livery

Jet Airways is getting closer to starting commercial flights, as sources indicate that the carrier has purchased an Airbus A320nee aircraft. Previously, rumors circulated that the airline might purchase an aircraft intended for other airlines. However, these are no longer rumors.

An A320neo with Jet Airways livery was sighted. This discovery also suggests that the airline will consider Airbus narrow-body aircraft for its fleet. It should be emphasized that several of these planes are being shared on social media channels, reinforcing the assumptions.

The most recent sighting implies that Jet Airways has acquired an Airbus A320neo plane intended for S7 Siberian Airlines. It was earlier reported that Jet Airways is in talks with manufacturers and lessors about purchasing up to eight more planes before 2023.

When Jet issued a tweet in July soliciting applications for current and type-rated pilots on the Airbus A320, Boeing 737NG, or 737 MAX, it was one of the first signs that Jet was considering the A320. It was intriguing to observe that Jet had advertised for pilots with experience flying both the 737 and the A320, implying that it would begin its second stint with a mixed fleet.

Meanwhile, sources claim that Jet Airways has postponed the start of its flight operations and is currently negotiating with lessors and other organizations to obtain aircraft. At the time, an airline representative stated, “There are no deadline dates determined solely by us, and we have always emphasized that this is a marathon, not a sprint. We said we wanted to start by October 2022, and we are on schedule to do so.”

Qantas Engineers Stage Walkout Over Cost of Living Concerns

Qantas Engineers Stage Walkout Over Cost of Living Concerns

Tensions at Qantas reached new heights as base maintenance workers in Brisbane walked out of a hangar meeting hosted by the airline’s CEO, Vanessa Hudson.

The walkout was a clear display of displeasure and aimed to send a strong message to the company’s management about the growing frustrations within the workforce. The workers, represented by the Qantas Engineers Alliance, have been pushing for wage increases that reflect the rising cost of living.

Despite ongoing discussions, the employees feel that their concerns have been overlooked, leading to this public show of dissent. The hangar meeting, meant to foster dialogue and address employee concerns, instead became the stage for a visible demonstration of dissatisfaction as the workers exited in unison.

For some time, the engineers and maintenance staff have expressed frustration over wage stagnation amid increasing inflation and living costs. Their demand is simple: a decent and fair wage adjustment that keeps pace with economic realities. The walkout underscores the workers’ determination to stand firm on their request for better pay and fair treatment.
