Air India offers 16 new destinations with Virgin Australia codeshare
Air India and Virgin Australia have launched a new codeshare partnership that enhances travel options for passengers between India and Australia.
This agreement marks a significant step in improving connectivity, providing a seamless travel experience, and opening up new opportunities for customers looking to fly between India and major cities in Australia and New Zealand.
How the Codeshare Agreement Works
Through this new partnership, Air India can now place its ‘AI’ code on Virgin Australia flights. This offers Air India passengers more flexibility, enabling them to travel from Delhi to Melbourne or Sydney and connect smoothly to 16 additional destinations across Australia and New Zealand.
The convenience of this partnership means passengers can enjoy seamless connections on a single ticket, with their baggage checked through to the final destination.

Air India’s Flight Schedule
Air India operates 14 weekly flights to Australia, offering daily non-stop flights from Delhi to both Melbourne and Sydney. The airline uses its state-of-the-art Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft on these routes, ensuring a comfortable journey for passengers. The Dreamliner features 18 flat beds in Business Class and 238 spacious seats in Economy Class, offering world-class comfort.
