The Ahmedabad airport will be closed for 9 hours every day until May 31st.

According to airport officials, a section of Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport will be closed for 9 hours every day till May 31st, for runway re-carpeting.

“The purpose of runway maintenance is to keep planes safe and extend the life of the runway. Runway maintenance closures are required by international safety requirements. As a result, all relevant stakeholders are engaged and ample warning is given to adjust schedules under the advice of the safety authority to ensure minimal passenger disruption. Officials at the airport said they’ve taken precautions to guarantee that only minor flight changes are made at this time to minimise disruption. Passengers should double-check their flight schedules with their individual airlines.
