Embraer has launched its latest business jet, the Phenom 100EX, which builds on the successful Phenom 100 series, which has been in service since 2008 and has over 400 aircraft in service.

The Phenom 100 series is trusted by owner pilots, private corporations, and flying academies such as RAF, Emirates, Etihad, and the Finnish Aviation Academy. The new Phenom 100EX provides greater cabin comfort, operational flexibility, and modern avionics for a legendary flying experience.

Based on user feedback received over the years, the Phenom 100EX was designed. Streamlined cabin controls, eco-friendly materials, and space-saving flush-to-the-wall tables are just a few of the distinguishing design aspects Embraer has used in its products.

To increase passenger capacity, the interior has been improved with a fifth seat and a belted lavatory. These modifications demonstrate Embraer’s dedication to delivering higher comfort, fantastic in-flight experiences, and improved maintenance efficiency. These interior changes go along with the aircraft’s best-in-class OvalLiteTM cross-section, which offers additional headroom, legroom, and a spacious baggage area.

The Phenom 100EX sets the standard for avionics and safety by being the first aircraft in its class to have a Runway Overrun Awareness and Alerting System (ROAAS) to improve landing safety. Additionally, extra legroom and an open-concept layout for improved connection with the cabin have been added to the cockpit for the comfort of the pilot.

The Prodigy Touch system, which is based on the Garmin 3000, and other cutting-edge pilot-centric avionics are included in the aircraft’s equipment. FlightStream 510, 3D volumetric scanning for hail and lightning prediction, stabilised approaches, predictive wind shear detection, and additional avionics advancements are among the others.

The Phenom 100EX is a highly efficient dual-engine jet with exceptional operating flexibility because of its low maintenance costs and high utilization rate. It has three certifications from ANAC, FAA, and EASA and is triple certified. It is already sold out for 2024, with the next delivery available in 2025.

Air India to Launch aircraft maintenance training institute in Bengaluru

Air India, one of India’s leading global airlines, is set to establish a Basic Maintenance Training Organization (BMTO) in Bengaluru.

This institute will offer a comprehensive Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) program certified by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). The program will follow an integrated 2+2 year structure, combining classroom learning with practical, hands-on training.

This initiative is part of Air India’s broader goal of creating a robust aviation ecosystem in India. With plans to expand its fleet and strengthen its operations, the airline aims to build a skilled workforce of maintenance engineers, making the organization self-reliant while supporting its ambitious transformation journey.

To bring this vision to life, air india has partnered with Bengaluru Airport City Limited (BACL), a subsidiary of Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL). Together, they will develop a state-of-the-art facility spanning 86,000 square feet at Bengaluru Airport City.

This purpose-built campus will feature modern classrooms, well-equipped laboratories, and qualified trainers to deliver world-class education and training. The institute is expected to become operational by mid-2026.

The BMTO will be located close to Air India’s new 12-bay Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility, also set to open in Bengaluru by early 2026. The AME program will begin with two years of academic coursework, followed by two years of practical training at the MRO, ensuring students receive hands-on experience adhering to industry standards.

In the meantime, Air India has introduced a Cadet AME program in collaboration with reputable institutions in Bengaluru and Hyderabad.

This ensures continuity in its commitment to developing skilled aircraft maintenance engineers while the BMTO facility is under construction. The program also allows students to pursue a bachelor’s degree through university partnerships, enhancing their career and academic opportunities.
