Russia to Showcase Su-57E 5th-Gen Fighter at Aero India 2025
This marks Russia’s first major fighter jet offer to India since learning about India’s plans to develop its own amca.
Russia is set to showcase its latest fifth-generation fighter jet, the Su-57E (export variant), at Aero India 2025 in Bangalore. This marks Russia’s first major fighter jet offer to India since learning about India’s plans to develop its own Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA).
The United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) will present the Su-57E to potential buyers from participating countries. An early prototype, the T-50-4 PAK FA, has already arrived at Yelahanka Air Force Station for the event..
Russia Offers Support for AMCA Development
In addition to promoting the Su-57E, Russia has expressed willingness to assist India in developing the AMCA, particularly in areas such as:
- Stealth technology
- Advanced avionics
- Weapons integration
India’s AMCA program has faced delays, partly due to issues related to GE engine procurement and other technological refinements. Russia’s support could help accelerate development in these key areas.
U.S. Steps Back from Demo Flight at Aero India
Interestingly, Lockheed Martin, which was initially expected to conduct a flight demonstration at Aero India, has reportedly withdrawn from showcasing its aircraft. While the reasons remain unclear, the U.S. is still expected to present other advanced aircraft at the event.
Su-57E: Russia’s Latest 5th-Gen Fighter
