Man buys food for elderly couple flying for the first time, heartwarming story is viral

On social media, a touching account of a man assisting an elderly couple who were “clueless” about flying for the first time went viral.

The couple, who were traveling for the first time and were from a small village in Uttar Pradesh, were not familiar with the specific procedures followed at the airport. Shah was able to help the couple navigate the airport and even buy them sandwiches after determining that they were both hungry and exhausted.

“Yesterday, I was traveling from the Delhi Airport to Kanpur. This amazing but tired couple in the photo travelled a long way; they arrived from a far-flung village in Uttar Pradesh, took an 8-hour bus ride to the Delhi Airport, and then they flew with me to Kanpur. They were completely bewildered when I saw them in the boarding area, and I could tell it was their first time there and they didn’t understand English. I smiled and approached them, telling them to just follow me.

The elderly woman asked Shah to take a photo of her and her husband so that she could send it to their daughter and let her know everything was okay. He gave in. They were seated directly in front of me on the plane. Can you please take our picture and send it to our daughter, who has a phone with Whatsapp, so she knows we are safe?, the aunty asked me. I took and sent this picture,” he proceeded.

He ordered a paneer sandwich and juice for them while keeping quiet about who was actually paying for the meal. Although they turned down the Airhostess’ offer of food, they were obviously hungry and thirsty for hours. I told to the flight attendant to serve them paneer sandwiches and juices, explaining that they were lucky customers who had won a free meal. Naturally, I paid for it when they weren’t looking. They merely “smiled” at me as we landed and went our own ways,” he wrote.
