Jet Airways’ Boeing 737 Fleet Heads to Auction as Liquidation Process Continues
New Delhi, July 14, 2026: Three Boeing 737 aircraft formerly operated by Jet Airways will be auctioned through a public e-auction on July 18, 2026, as liquidators continue efforts to recover value from the grounded airline’s remaining assets.
The auction, to be held on the BAANKNET platform, includes two Boeing 737-800s and one Boeing 737-900. The aircraft have remained parked at Delhi, Hyderabad, and Mumbai airports since the airline ceased operations in 2019.
Reserve Prices Announced
The liquidator has fixed the following reserve prices for the aircraft:
- Boeing 737-800: ₹90.02 crore
- Boeing 737-800: ₹70.64 crore
- Boeing 737-900: ₹4.93 crore (aircraft is missing its right engine and Auxiliary Power Unit)
These reserve prices represent the minimum acceptable bids under the ongoing insolvency proceedings.
Buyers Expected from Aviation Sector
Despite being grounded for several years, the aircraft are expected to generate interest from airlines, aircraft leasing companies, cargo operators, and Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) providers.
The Boeing 737-800 remains one of the world’s most widely used narrowbody aircraft and offers several potential opportunities for buyers, including:
- Restoring the aircraft for commercial passenger operations after inspection and recertification.
- Converting the aircraft into dedicated freighters for cargo services.
- Dismantling the aircraft to recover high-value components, engines, and spare parts.
The Boeing 737-900, offered at a significantly lower reserve price due to missing major components, is expected to attract buyers interested in parts recovery or long-term restoration projects.
Part of Jet Airways’ Asset Monetization
The upcoming sale is part of the ongoing liquidation of Jet Airways, aimed at maximizing returns for creditors. Earlier this year, several of the airline’s Boeing 777 aircraft were successfully auctioned, with winning bids exceeding their reserve prices.
Liquidators are also continuing to monetize other remaining assets, including aircraft spare parts, ground support equipment, and additional operational inventory.
Interested bidders must complete the required registration process and submit the necessary deposits before the auction date. Further details are available through the official insolvency and BAANKNET auction notifications.
