Airbus Soars in 2025: Strong Orders & Deliveries Kickstart the Year
Airbus starts 2025 on a high note with 55 new aircraft orders and 25 deliveries, highlighting strong demand for its A350F freighter
The year 2025 has kicked off on a high note for Airbus, reinforcing its position as a global leader in aviation. The European aircraft manufacturer secured strong widebody orders and maintained impressive delivery numbers in January.
Despite market challenges, Airbus recorded 55 new aircraft orders and delivered 25 jets to 17 customers worldwide, demonstrating steady growth and demand for its aircraft.
A350F: Transforming Air Cargo Operations
A major highlight of Airbus’s recent success is the strong demand for the A350F, a next-generation freighter designed to revolutionize air cargo operations. This aircraft features the world’s largest main deck cargo door, streamlining the loading and unloading process.
The A350F’s advanced composite materials reduce weight and fuel consumption, leading to lower operational costs and a smaller environmental footprint.
With new commitments added in January, firm orders for the A350F have now reached 63, highlighting the growing preference for modernized, fuel-efficient freighters.
January 2025 Deliveries: A Promising Start
Airbus delivered 25 aircraft in January, including 23 single-aisle jets and two widebodies. The breakdown of deliveries is as follows:
- 11 A321neo
- 7 A320neo
- 2 A319neo
- 3 A220-300
Leading airlines such as easyJet, United Airlines, Wizz Air, and Delta Airlines expanded their fleets with these deliveries. Additionally, Airbus handed over a new A350-900 to Emirates and an A350-1000 to Japan Airlines, further emphasizing the shift toward fuel-efficient widebody aircraft.
Strong Order Book Strengthens Airbus’s Position
In addition to its deliveries, Airbus secured 55 new orders in January, including significant deals for the A350F and A350-900. A major order for 25 A320neo jets further strengthened the manufacturer’s single-aisle backlog.
As of January 2025, Airbus has accumulated:
- 995 total orders for the A350-900
- 305 total orders for the A350-1000
These figures reflect continued confidence in the A350 program and Airbus’s dominance in the long-haul market.
Looking Ahead: A Strong Year for Airbus
With a solid start to 2025, Airbus is poised for another successful year. The increasing demand for the A350F and steady deliveries of single-aisle and widebody aircraft highlight the company’s ability to meet airline and cargo operator needs worldwide.
As the aviation industry continues its post-pandemic recovery, Airbus remains at the forefront, providing innovative, fuel-efficient, and sustainable aircraft solutions.
