As reported by HT, An Air India spokesperson later attributed the delay to “operational reasons,” clarifying that Flight AI179, originally planned for August 26, 2024, would now depart on August 27, 2024, at 9 a.m. The spokesperson expressed regret over the inconvenience caused by the unforeseen delay, emphasizing the airline’s commitment to addressing the situation.

To mitigate the disruption, Air India’s ground staff at Mumbai Airport extended support to passengers by providing hotel accommodation and offering options for full refunds or complimentary rescheduling.
