On Saturday, an IndiGo flight traveling from Amritsar to Ahmedabad briefly entered Pakistani airspace. Due to poor weather, the event occurred at around 7:30 pm when the jet was ascending to Gujranwala (a city nearby Lahore). At 8:01 pm, according to local media reports, it eventually made its way back to India.

“Due to bad weather, an IndiGo flight temporarily entered Pakistani airspace. The flight was scheduled to depart from Amritsar and land in Ahmedabad. It safely touched down in Ahmedabad, according to IndiGo officials, who spoke to the news agency ANI.

Flight radar indicated that the Indian plane, which had a ground speed of 454 knots, approached the area north of Lahore at 7:30 on Saturday night and left for India at 8:01, according to the Dawn newspaper.

A senior Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) official claimed that the situation was common and that it was accepted practise in inclement weather across nations. Several flights were diverted and delayed in the interim as a result of poor visibility at airports, which was made known by a CAA advisory.
