140 Air India 737 MAX aircraft will be equipped with Collins’ advanced avionics
Air India has chosen Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, to provide a complete suite of avionics gear for the airline’s growing fleet of Boeing 737 MAX aircraft. During the ongoing Singapore Airshow 2024, the deal was announced.
In order to improve fleet safety, fuel efficiency, and operational performance, Air India has implemented a comprehensive package that comprises communication, navigation, surveillance, and air data sensors.
Collins Aerospace is a valued partner of Air India in our transformational journey. Our expanding fleet of Boeing 737 MAX aircraft will be well-served by the company’s whole portfolio of avionics hardware, according to Nipun Aggrawal, Chief Commercial & Transformation Officer, Air India.
On Air India’s MAX aircraft, Collins’ cutting-edge avionics suite will cooperate to enhance operations during every stage of flight. Precision satellite and ground-based navigation is made possible by multi-mode receivers, which also allow for future software updates, enhanced integrity, and high position accuracy. Collins’ radio altimeters actively filter and mitigate any potential 5G cellular interference, providing precise digital height measurements during critical phases like as approach, and landing.
Collins’ MultiScan ThreatTrackTM weather radar, which forecasts unfavourable weather conditions and actively displays and analyses cells, will also be provided to Air India. This weather radar allows for real-time route changes, minimises long deviations and delays, and guarantees a more comfortable travel experience for customers.
