According to the OAG, we have listed the world’s Top 10 Busiest Flight Routes for 2024.

The busiest international airline route in 2024 is from Hong Kong (HKG) to Taipei (TPE) with 6.8 million seats. Although this route was third in 2023, it ranked first in 2019. Capacity has increased by 48% compared to last year, though it’s still 15% below 2019 levels. This route saw the largest growth in the Asia Pacific region, which is recovering post-pandemic.
In second place is Cairo (CAI) to Jeddah (JED) with 5.5 million seats, showing a 14% increase from 2023 and 62% growth since 2019.

Third is Seoul Incheon (ICN) to Tokyo Narita (NRT) with 5.4 million seats, just 58,818 seats behind second place. Capacity is up by 30% from 2023 and 68% higher than 2019.
Kuala Lumpur (KUL) to Singapore Changi (SIN), which was the busiest route in 2023, is in fourth place in 2024 with 5.4 million seats, just slightly behind third place.
Bangkok (BKK) to Hong Kong (HKG) ranks seventh with 4.2 million seats, a 29% increase from last year, though it remains 13% below 2019.
Most of the Top 10 busiest routes are in Asia (7), with the rest coming from Africa (Cairo to Jeddah), Europe/North America (New York JFK to London Heathrow), and the Middle East (Cairo to Jeddah and Dubai to Riyadh).
