Spirit Airlines put an Unaccompanied 6-year-old child on the wrong plane

Spirit Airlines to Cut 260 Pilot Jobs as Part of Financial Restructuring Strategy

Spirit Airlines issued an apology after mistakenly placing a six-year-old boy on the incorrect flight, taking him more than 160 miles from his home.

Thursday’s flight was scheduled to depart from Philadelphia International Airport and arrive at Southwest Florida International Airport in Fort Myers. But the airline claims the child was “incorrectly boarded” on an Orlando flight.

One of the scariest things the child’s grandmother has ever experienced, she told, was learning he wasn’t on the flight he was supposed to be on. “I hurried to the flight attendant inside the aircraft and asked, ‘Where’s my grandson?’” Did you receive him in Philadelphia? Maria Ramos told “No, I had no kids with me.”

When the child called to let her know he had arrived in Orlando, she found out what had happened. She left immediately and drove for several hours to get him.
