SpiceJet air hostesses allegedly strip-searched by arlines own security personnel

In a shocking incident, air-hostesses of SpiceJet airlines were allegedly strip-searched by the airline’s own security personnel.

The incident reportedly took place at Chennai airport on Saturday morning, and the air-hostesses were even told to remove sanitary pads from their handbags, reported NDTV. A report said that the air hostesses reported to work only after assurance that a  high-level team will look into the matter.

Speaking to a news channel, an air hostess said that women personnel touched them inappropriately during the search and they have been stripped naked over the last three days. “A colleague in her period was asked to remove her sanitary napkin,” an air hostess said on the condition of anonymity.

The cabin crew has also alleged that the airline suspects them of swindling cash collected on board for food and other sales. “We talk about rape and molestation, is this any less?” said another crew member.

According to report, in an email to the protesting cabin crew, SpiceJet’s senior VP has blamed the strict search on suspicion of some cabin crew taking company material from flights.

However, senior SpiceJet official in Chennai has refuted all the allegations.
