Plus-sized traveler demands free seats, better accommodations on airlines
To ensure that plus-sized passengers are “protected” while travelling, a woman is urging airlines to enact a “customer-of-size policy.”
This entails putting rules in place to guarantee the convenience of travellers of all sizes. This would entail providing as many free seats as necessary for plus-sized passengers to travel comfortably.
The Federal Aviation Authority in the US should make travelling in coach “comfortable and accessible for everyone,” including “larger people,” according to plus-size influencer Jaelynn Chaney, who is located in Vancouver, Washington.
The travel and lifestyle blogger is speaking from personal experience when she says that an immovable armrest during a trip left her “bruised” and in “pain”; she also mentions the “discrimination” she encounters as a plus-sized traveller.
People also advise Jaelynn that if she doesn’t, it’s “not fair to the person who has to sit next to her.” They accuse her of being “selfish for taking a seat from another” when she admits that she has purchased an extra seat.

Chaney then went on to start a petition on Change.org asking airlines to give all passengers who are plus size free seats and bigger bathrooms. The incident reportedly took place after she felt “discrimination and discomfort” when travelling with her partner.
Not just that. The airline should reimburse overweight passengers for any additional seats they are required to buy when booking a ticket, she added. “Plus-size travellers who purchase additional seats on their own should be eligible for a reimbursement from airlines. This ought to be an easy procedure that can be accessed online or through customer service,” she stated.
Airlines will improve the environment for all travellers, regardless of size, by putting these rules into place. It’s time for the aviation sector to make a stand and commit to fostering an environment that is more welcoming and inclusive of all travellers. Join us in requesting that the FAA act to safeguard plus-size travellers.
