Emirates Unveils a Feast of 300+ Vegan Wonders in 2024

Emirates has observed a 40% increase in customer demand for plant-based meals as awareness of Veganuary, an initiative that has promoted the advantages of a vegan diet for the past ten years, reaches a global peak.

Emirates will add even more dishes to its “vegan vault” of more than 300 carefully chosen plant-based recipes later this year to meet this demand in 2024. This will include a variety of new vegan dishes that will be available onboard and in lounges.

Emirates passengers traveling in Economy class can savor appealing dishes such as a hearty chickpea kale stew served with parsley pilaf rice and baby spinach, or a textured pumpkin frittata filled with carrot, peppers, mushrooms, and tomato concasse. At Economy, delectable vegan desserts include moist banana cake with chocolate crumble, coconut mousse with mango compote, and rich chocolate custard with cocoa soil.

Customers who choose vegan food in Premium Economy class will be treated to healthy, delectable dishes like rich squash chestnut stew with basmati rice, smooth and velvety raspberry parfait with a burst of orange compote, or rich jackfruit curry.

A selection of sophisticated and artistically prepared dishes are available in Business class, such as roasted cauliflower with ancient grains, caramelized pear, and lovage pesto, or a hearty ragout of Asian tofu and shitake mushrooms served with glass noodles. If there is still room for dessert, customers may indulge themselves on a chocolate cheesecake paired with strawberry compote and a dark chocolate cigar, or they can feast on a tropical coconut pineapple cake.

Guests will be treated to incredibly sophisticated vegan fare in First Class, such as sautéed spinach covered in a rich root vegetable jus and creamy polenta cake with thyme mushroom ragout. A blend of aubergine curry with charred rice and turmeric potato with a hint of coconut and mint chutney are two dishes that offer a sophisticated taste explosion. Rich desserts showcase carefully balanced contrasts, such as the sharp taste of rhubarb balanced with strawberry charlotte, Chantilly cream, and raspberry tuille, or a luscious warm chocolate fondant topped with whipped cashew cream and salted caramel sauce.

In a major development for North American travelers, Air India has announced the deployment of its state-of-the-art Airbus A350-900 aircraft on two key routes: Delhi to New York and Delhi to Newark.

The service on the Delhi-New York route will commence on November 1, 2024, while the Delhi-Newark route will see its inaugural flight on January 2, 2025.

The A350’s Business class will set new standards with 28 private suites, each equipped with full-flat beds, direct aisle access, and personal wardrobes. Economy class will be configured to accommodate 264 passengers in a 3-4-3 layout. Across all cabins, passengers will enjoy the latest Panasonic eX3 in-flight entertainment system, offering over 2,200 hours of content.

This strategic deployment marks a notable enhancement in Air India’s U.S. operations, with 60% of its flights to the U.S. now featuring new or upgraded cabin interiors.
