Emirates Close to Sealing New Freighter Order for A350 and 777X
Emirates is planning to expand its cargo fleet to meet the rising global demand for air freight. The airline is currently evaluating the freighter versions of the Airbus A350 and the Boeing 777X, aiming to triple its cargo fleet by 2030.
Nadeem Sultan, Emirates‘ senior vice president of freighters and cargo planning, shared this update during the Aviation Future Week. a350 vs b777 He emphasized that the decision is expected in the coming weeks, driven by a pressing need to address a capacity shortage caused by late aircraft deliveries and high demand for air cargo services.

Emirates SkyCargo made its latest investment in July, with an order for five new Boeing 777-200 freighters set for delivery between 2025 and 2026. This $1 billion order builds on a previous investment in four new 777-200Fs expected this year, and another one scheduled for 2025.
Currently, emirates airlines has 11 777 freighters in service, with 10 more on the way. Additionally, the airline confirmed plans in June to proceed with the conversion of 10 777-300ER passenger aircraft into freighters by Israel Aerospace Industries, despite facing production delays.
