Boeing receives significant orders from two airlines at the Paris Airshow.

At the Paris Air Show in 2023, Boeing and China Airlines signed a contract for eight 787-9 Dreamliners. This firm order, which was previously posted to Boeing’s Orders and Deliveries website as unidentified, follows the airline’s first-ever order for 16 787-9s announced last year. 

As passenger demand continues to increase above pre-pandemic levels, China Airlines also becomes the newest 787-10 customer when it upgrades six 787-9s to the 787-10, the largest member of the 787 family, to add flexibility and capacity on its regional network.

With this purchase, the airline will expand its current worldwide network by introducing 24 incredibly efficient 787s over the coming years. China Airlines will be able to accomplish its environmental goals because of the 787’s 20% fuel and emissions reduction. More than 250 orders and pledges for the 787 family have been received in the last six months, marking the fastest sales rate in its history.

The 737-9 is intended to carry 193 passengers in a two-class configuration across a distance of 3,300 nautical miles, increasing both capacity and economics.
