Air India to launch flights from Los Angeles, Boston
Air India, which is owned by the Tata Group, intends to run flights to other US locations, including Los Angeles and is monitoring a number of metrics, according to reports.
The airline currently offers nonstop service to five American cities: Chicago, San Francisco, New York, New Jersey, and Washington, DC. Los Angeles and Boston are among the locations being considered as potential new long-distance flight destinations from India.
According to aviation industry experts, starting a new destination necessitates considering a wide range of variables, such as fleet size, pilot strength, and traffic volume on the route.
According to the source, variables that need to be taken into account include the number of pilots already in service, training for cabin crew, and ground employees that will be stationed at an airport at the new location. Many people with Indian ancestry or nationality, including students at different US colleges, reside in or work there. Additionally, many Indians travel to the US.

A senior Air India official recently said that the airline’s privatisation has “enabled Indian aviation” to capture a substantial portion of the market that had previously “remained untapped.”
“Privatisation has always been a difficult topic in India, especially when it involves an asset like Air India, the country’s national carrier, and there are many feelings attached to it,” he said.
“Everyone wants Air India to be successful and remain a national carrier. Second, and maybe most significantly, it occurred because it was Tata, and the kind of confidence that the name inspires made matters simpler, the official added.
