Air India Express Increases Free Baggage Allowance on These International Routes
For most travelers, managing baggage and paying for extra luggage often adds stress to travel planning. But Air India Express is making things simpler and more convenient for its passengers.
The airline has announced a significant increase in its free checked-in baggage allowance on international flights, raising it from 20 kg to 30 kg. This enhanced allowance applies to all flights to the Middle East and Singapore, making travel easier and more cost-effective for passengers. And recently air india express adds 22 new international routes to its network in 2024.
This includes essentials like a laptop bag, handbag, or backpack that fits comfortably under the seat (maximum dimensions: 40 cm x 30 cm x 10 cm).
For families traveling with infants, the benefits are even greater. Air India Express offers an additional 10kg free baggage allowance, bringing the total allowance for such travelers to an impressive 47kg, including cabin baggage.
Air India Express Baggage Allowance for Economy Class
Economy-class passengers on air india express international flights can enjoy the upgraded 30kg check-in baggage allowance, which is especially helpful for those traveling for extended periods or with multiple family members. This enhanced baggage policy ensures that economy-class passengers can pack more without worrying about additional costs.
For those who need even more flexibility, Air India Express offers the “Xtra Carry-On” service. This allows passengers to increase their cabin baggage weight by an additional 3kg to 5kg for a nominal fee.
Musical instruments can also be carried as cabin baggage at no extra charge if they meet the specified dimensions of 56 cm x 36 cm x 23 cm. Larger instruments can be accommodated by purchasing an additional seat or paying special equipment charges, provided their weight does not exceed 75kg.
While the 30kg check-in baggage allowance is a highlight for international routes, domestic travelers should check with the airline for the applicable baggage policy, as it may differ.
For passengers seeking a premium travel experience, Air India Express offers “Xpress Biz,” its business-class product. Guests flying on Xpress Biz enjoy an upgraded 40kg free check-in baggage allowance along with priority check-in, boarding, and baggage handling services. Additionally, they can relax in recliner seats with a seat pitch of up to 58 inches and enjoy premium in-flight meals from the ‘Gourmair’ menu.
