Airbus and Boeing secure sizable orders from this airline

Airbus and Boeing secure sizable orders from this airline

An international leasing company called Avolon has signed a firm order for 100 A321neo aircraft, bringing its total order quantity for the aircraft to 190. Avolon’s delivery pipeline for the single-aisle Family, which is the most preferred in the world, is secured by this agreement.

With this most recent agreement, Avolon now has 632 aircraft total—including A320, A330, and A350 Families—in its firm order book directly from Airbus. To meet the increasing demand for widebody aircraft worldwide, Avolon placed an order for 20 A330neo aircraft in September.

On the other hand, Avolon and Boeing declared that the Ireland-based lessor plans to buy 40 additional 737-8 aircraft, bringing the total number of 737 MAX aircraft the lessor has—which includes both 737-8 and 737-10 versions—to over 110. Moreover, Avolon placed a June order for 40 737-8s.

When the new order is finalized, it will be posted on Boeing’s Orders and Deliveries website. It is contingent upon shareholder approval by Bohai Leasing Co., Ltd., Avolon’s primary shareholder.

In addition to offering Avolon’s customers increased network flexibility, the 737 MAX can cut emissions and fuel consumption by up to 20%. Comparing each aircraft to the ones it replaces, an average of up to 8 million pounds of CO2 will be saved annually.
