IndiGo strengthens connectivity to Southeast Asia; new flights to Singapore, Bangkok
IndiGo, the largest airline in India, has revealed plans for four flights between India and Southeast Asia, including two new routes between Bhubaneshwar and Singapore and Bhubaneshwar and Bangkok, as well as the addition of a second frequency on the Bangkok-Kolkata route beginning on June 3, 2023.
IndiGo will begin daily direct flights between the two important tourist centers on May 25, 2023, in response to the strong demand for travel from Delhi to Singapore during the post-covid era. These flights will greatly improve accessibility and connectivity throughout Southeast Asia and give customers more cheap options, particularly during the summer vacation.
Currently, IndiGo connects Tiruchirappalli, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Kolkata to Singapore as well as Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Kolkata to Bangkok. With these new expansions, the airline will serve the rising demand for international travel by providing direct connections to 6 cities from Singapore and 5 cities from Bangkok.
Customers who wish to plan their travel can book tickets via official website www.goIndiGo.in. The introduction of these flights will further bolster the airline’s international connectivity.

PIA Reinstates Manchester and Paris Routes After EU Ban Lift
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced plans to resume flights to Europe starting in January, beginning with Paris as its first destination.
The decision follows the European Union Aviation Safety Agency’s (EASA) removal of a long-standing ban on the airline. PIA’s inaugural flight to Paris is scheduled for January 10, with bookings opening on December 9.
DOT Proposes New Passenger Compensation Rules for Flight Disruptions
In an official statement, PIA spokesperson Abdullah Hafeez Khan confirmed that the first flight schedule has been approved, marking a significant milestone in the airline’s recovery efforts. The EU ban had previously cost PIA approximately Rs40 billion ($144 million) annually in lost revenue, compounding its financial struggles.
With European operations restarting, PIA is now setting its sights on the United Kingdom. The airline plans to seek approval from the UK Department for Transport (DfT) to resume flights to major British cities such as London, Manchester, and Birmingham.
