Flight attendants claim that United took them off for not being ‘white, young, thin’

United Airlines Brings Holiday Cheer with Free North Pole Flights

In a complaint, two seasoned flight attendants from United Airlines contend that their removal from flying Los Angeles Dodgers charter flights was due to the fact that they were not young, White, and thin.

United Airlines is accused of racial and religious discrimination in the case, which was filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Wednesday, October 25, by Darby Quezada, 44, and Dawn Todd, 50. Todd is Black, Quezada is of Black, Mexican, and Jewish origin. Both have over fifteen years of experience with United.

United replaced them with young White thin women

The lawsuit claims that, in response to a request, United discriminated against minority female flight attendants on Los Angeles Dodgers charter flights by removing them from the aircraft and replacing “young White thin women who did not have to interview for the highly coveted positions…”

According to the company, “United promotes an inclusive environment and does not tolerate discrimination of any kind.” “We intend to vigorously defend ourselves because we believe this lawsuit is without merit.”

plaintiffs’ requests were denied or rejected

The lawsuit claims that despite the plaintiffs’ qualifications and expertise, their requests were denied or rejected on the grounds that they are not white. In 2020, United Airlines‘ Black and Jewish flight attendants brought a similar complaint against the airline.
