France has recently deployed major military assets to UAE

After establishing a fuselage production facility in Hyderabad, Dassault Aviation has taken another decisive step in its India journey.

As the nation pushes forward with its Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India) initiative, the French aerospace leader has inaugurated new premises for the Dassault Aircraft Services India – Engineering Center in Pune, Maharashtra.

The company described the move as a continuation of its commitment under the ‘Make in India’ policy — and a reflection of the deepening partnership between Dassault and India’s rapidly growing aerospace ecosystem.

Doubling Capacity, Empowering Engineers

The expansion of the Pune Engineering Center will double its capacity to accommodate over 150 engineers, according to Dassault Aviation. This development highlights the company’s determination to enhance design and engineering capabilities within India and to foster local expertise.

The center’s growing team will contribute to both Dassault’s internal projects and the broader Indian and global supply chains, reinforcing India’s role as a hub for advanced aerospace innovation.

Supporting Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat

Dassault’s decision aligns seamlessly with India’s ongoing efforts to promote defence indigenisation and private-sector participation in high-tech manufacturing. By investing in local engineering talent and technology transfer, Dassault aims to build a sustainable foundation for long-term collaboration and self-reliance in the aerospace domain.

Meeting Rafale Offset Commitments

The company further confirmed that the expansion supports its offset obligations linked to the Rafale fighter jet contract with the Indian Air Force. This move not only demonstrates compliance with India’s defence partnership framework but also strengthens industrial cooperation between both nations.

A Long-Term Partnership for the Future

Through its extended industrial footprint in India — spanning manufacturing, maintenance, and engineering — Dassault Aviation continues to be a key enabler of India’s aerospace ambitions.

The Pune facility’s expansion underlines Dassault’s strategic vision to integrate India more deeply into its global operations while contributing to local innovation and capability building.

In doing so, the company is helping India move closer to its goal of becoming a global defence and aerospace powerhouse.
