Qantas Introduces new Group Boarding Inspired by US Practices

Qantas and Jetstar are making it easier for Australians to lock in their travel plans for the rest of the year with more than one million discounted seats up for grabs in their latest network-wide sales.

From today, one-way fares are available from $39* on Jetstar and $99^ on Qantas. Business class fares are available from $499 on Qantas.

Between Qantas, QantasLink and Jetstar, the sales span more than 170 routes around Australia including capital cities and regional towns from Cairns and Canberra to Ballina and Brisbane. Jetstar is also offering sale fares on more than 20 international routes, with fares starting from $175* one-way. The sale fares are on average 30 percent lower than Qantas’ normal lead-in fares and up to 60 percent lower for Jetstar.

Qantas and Jetstar travel planning tips

  • Book as early as possible and travel at off-peak times (especially mid-week, if you can) to get the lowest fares.
  • Keep an eye out for regular sales:
    • Low-fares and holiday package offers are available on Jetstar’s deals page which is updated every week.
    • Subscribe to Qantas’ Red Email and Jetstar’s Jetmail to receive the latest flight sales and special travel deals straight to your inbox.
  • Consider joining Club Jetstar for $55 a year to get early access to Jetstar’s biggest sales.
  • Qantas Frequent Flyers can maximise their points earn through their everyday spend (like credit cards, supermarket shopping, fuel) and use points to book flights.
  • Use a Qantas Travel Credit to book your next flight (about half of the credits yet to be used by customers are between $100 and $499).

The new First Class seat is ultra-wide at 36.5 inches, with a bed length of 79 inches for ultimate comfort. It includes:

  • A multi-purpose ottoman and stowable table.
  • A 32-inch 4K TV screen.
  • Adjustable mood lighting with modes like “relax,” “dine,” and “cinema.”
  • A cocooned 60-inch curved wall for privacy while maintaining a spacious feel.

Passengers traveling together can enjoy a shared experience with a sliding divider that creates a lounge-like space. The stowable tables also allow for “buddy dining,” where two people can dine together.

The cabin’s flowing curves, inspired by the iconic Concorde wings, create a welcoming and stylish environment. Additionally, passengers can now wheel their luggage directly into their personal storage space, making settling in easier.
