JetBlue launches with All-New Daylight Service from New York to London
JetBlue announced that it is improving its transatlantic flights even further by adding a new midday flight option for passengers flying from New York to London. Beginning March 25, 2023, New York’s Hometown Airline® will add a new morning flight from John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to London Heathrow Airport (LHR).
This will give passengers a brand-new option to arrive in the UK the same day they leave the United States. The additional pair of slots JetBlue was able to secure allowed for the new trip, significantly enhancing the airline’s presence at the busiest airport in the United Kingdom. JetBlue’s new Heathrow flights have seats available beginning today.

JFK – LHR Flight No. 1107: 8:30 a.m. to 8:45 p.m.
JFK – LHR Flight No. 007: 9:00 p.m. to 9:30 a.m. (+1).
LHR – JFK Flight No. 2220: 8:25 a.m. to 11:40 a.m.
LHR – JFK Flight No. 20: 11:55 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
BOS – LHR Flight No. 1620: 6:45 p.m. to 6:30 a.m (+1).
LHR – BOS Flight No. 1621: 8:25 a.m. to 11:21 a.m.
London Gatwick
JFK – LGW Flight No. 43: 7:30 p.m. to 7:55 a.m. (+1).
LGW – JFK Flight No. 44: noon to 3:15 p.m.
BOS – LGW Flight No. 2104: 6:37 p.m. to 6:35 a.m. (+1).

JetBlue is currently the only U.S. carrier to serve both Gatwick and Heathrow, offering customers on both sides of the Atlantic greater choice and convenience. JetBlue’s multi-airport approach in London, with diversified flying at two of the U.K.’s busiest airports, has already allowed the airline to grow a meaningful customer base of loyal transatlantic fliers and build valuable relationships with key teams at both airports.

Customers in both core and Mint can stay connected throughout the flight, with JetBlue being the only airline to offer all travelers unlimited, free high-speed wi-fi on flights between the U.S. and the U.K. Additionally, customers have access to a curated selection of seatback entertainment, allowing customers to have a multiple screen experience onboard – just like they do at home.

Air India to Launch aircraft maintenance training institute in Bengaluru
Air India, one of India’s leading global airlines, is set to establish a Basic Maintenance Training Organization (BMTO) in Bengaluru.
This institute will offer a comprehensive Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) program certified by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). The program will follow an integrated 2+2 year structure, combining classroom learning with practical, hands-on training.
This initiative is part of Air India’s broader goal of creating a robust aviation ecosystem in India. With plans to expand its fleet and strengthen its operations, the airline aims to build a skilled workforce of maintenance engineers, making the organization self-reliant while supporting its ambitious transformation journey.

To bring this vision to life, air india has partnered with Bengaluru Airport City Limited (BACL), a subsidiary of Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL). Together, they will develop a state-of-the-art facility spanning 86,000 square feet at Bengaluru Airport City.
This purpose-built campus will feature modern classrooms, well-equipped laboratories, and qualified trainers to deliver world-class education and training. The institute is expected to become operational by mid-2026.
The BMTO will be located close to Air India’s new 12-bay Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility, also set to open in Bengaluru by early 2026. The AME program will begin with two years of academic coursework, followed by two years of practical training at the MRO, ensuring students receive hands-on experience adhering to industry standards.

In the meantime, Air India has introduced a Cadet AME program in collaboration with reputable institutions in Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
This ensures continuity in its commitment to developing skilled aircraft maintenance engineers while the BMTO facility is under construction. The program also allows students to pursue a bachelor’s degree through university partnerships, enhancing their career and academic opportunities.
With this initiative, air india plane aims to address the growing demand for skilled professionals in aircraft maintenance and engineering, air india new planes contributing to the development of India’s aviation sector and creating specialized career paths for aspiring engineers.
